Abstract:
This article examines the challenges and requirements of inheritance law reform in the context of digital transformation in Vietnam, highlights several key issues, including the emergence of digital assets and their lack of formal legal recognition within inheritance relationships, the inadequacies in electronic death declaration data integration affecting the determination of the commencement of inheritance, and the potential recognition of electronic wills with two proposed forms tailored to Vietnam’s legal and technological conditions. Accordingly, the article underscores the urgent need to establish a clear and coherent legal framework to ensure that inheritance rights are properly and effectively protected in the digital environment.
