Bài viết này xem xét ảnh hưởng của hành vi làm cha mẹ đến hành vi vi phạm pháp luật của người chưa thành niên dựa trên khảo sát 403 người chưa thành niên vi phạm pháp luật đang chấp hành biện pháp tư pháp giáo dục tại các trường giáo dưỡng. Kết quả của hồi quy đơn biến cho thấy cả hỗ trợ, kiểm soát tâm lí và kiểm soát hành vi của cha và mẹ đều ảnh hưởng đến hành vi vi phạm pháp luật của người chưa thành niên. Trong đó, kiểm soát tâm lí của cả cha và mẹ là yếu tố nguy cơ tác động mạnh nhất đến hành vi vi phạm pháp luật của người chưa thành niên theo chiều thuận. Ngược lại, kiểm soát hành vi và hỗ trợ đóng vai trò là các yếu tố bảo vệ, tác động theo chiều nghịch. Tuy nhiên, kết quả phân tích hồi quy đa biến cho thấy chỉ kiểm soát hành vi của cả cha và mẹ, cùng với kiểm soát tâm lí và sự hỗ trợ của cha, mới có tác động đáng kể về mặt thống kê đến hành vi vi phạm pháp luật. Những phát hiện này cung cấp cơ sở thực chứng quan trọng để xây dựng các chiến lược can thiệp sớm từ gia đình, đặc biệt nhấn mạnh vai trò của người cha và sự cần thiết phải giảm thiểu các hình thức kiểm soát tâm lí tiêu cực trong giáo dục con.
