Facing global challenges caused by climate change, resource degradation, and environmental pollution, green development has become an inevitable trend and one of the top prioritised goals in development strategies of many countries, including Vietnam. Private enterprises, a key force in the economy, need to be oriented towards sustainable and environmentally friendly development. However, the current legal framework related to green development for private enterprises still has many shortcomings, requiring synchronous and effective improvement. The article clarifies current legal provisions associated with green development in private enterprises, presents the experience of the Federal Republic of Germany in developing laws on green development in private enterprises, analyses the weaknesses and limitations of existing laws, and proposes solutions to improve the legal system on green development in private enterprises. This article employs document analysis and synthesis, comparative legal analysis, case study analysis, and forecasting methods to examine and clarify the relevant issues.
