The concept of electronic will is not new, but its legal recognition has only been established in the legislation of a few countries worldwide. In Europe, several countries (such as England, Wales, and Estonia) have acknowledged electronic wills either directly or indirectly. Studying the legislative processes and practical implementation related to electronic wills in these countries can provide valuable insights for others, including Vietnam, in improving the relevant laws. This article studies the legal framework and practical application of electronic wills in England, Wales, and Estonia, thereby providing recommendations for establishing technical standards for digital signatures and a national repository for electronic wills in Vietnam.
